Hello. I'm Marwyn, owner of ME Boutique. I just love the whole atmosphere of the Raumati Beach Village and the surrounding community.
I had worked previously at a bank in Wellington for 18 years and found Wellington was spoilt for choice with high quality women’s fashion stores, but on the Coast we had very little, so I set up ME Boutique. I specialize in exclusive, high quality jewellery - exclusive meaning that I only stock one piece of any kind. Ladies, that means you don't have to worry about walking down the street and seeing your necklace on someone else!!
I am exclusive stockist of Peter Lange (from Australia). His pieces are hand made from start to finish and are not repeated from season to season. He releases two collections a year and I find half of the stock is cleared before I even get a chance to put it on the shelf. I am also an exclusive stockist for Sarah Grey, who is based in Auckland. She imports from New York and Italy. Again this jewellery is handmade and of very high quality. I have an ethnic range sourced from a local stockist in Churton Park. Her jewellery is imported from her sister who designs it in South Africa.
To compliment the jewellery I also stock a wide range of designer handbags, shoes and various other little things that may well take your liking.
I want my jewellery to be a life long friend and companion to its new owner, so I will go that extra distance to make sure I understand the needs and wants of my customer. Service is the key to any experience. In my store you can actually try jewellery on. It’s not behind a glass cabinet and it's not uncommon for me to pull shelves of jewellery down just to find that perfect piece!
Raumati Beach is a great place. I love every day. You have the beach, the park, the community - it's just such a relaxing place to live and work. I think the Village is unique for Kapiti in that it offers a great boutique fashion experience. We all compliment each other, with the likes of Miriam Gibson, The Frock Shop, Voon, Small Fry and of course the prankster pulling butchers next door, Bill and John (they deny this of course)!
Like one of my customers told me "we can do it all at Raumati now". I think that speaks for itself...
Happy Shopping.
